FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB 346
2018 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
HB346 amends AS 08.36 by adding a new section for a temporary permit. The temporary permit is intended to expedite
permitting so that a dentist from outside of the state could temporarily replace a dentist who is incapacitated. The new
section describes the temporary permit, the requirements to obtain the permit, and options to extend the permit.
If the bill passes, the division will require $2.6 to cover legal costs to amend regulations, printing, and postage in the first
year.
Professional licensing programs within the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing are funded
by Receipt Supported Services, fund source 1156 Rcpt Svcs (DGF). Licensing fees for each occupation are set per AS
08.01.065 so the total amount of revenue collected approximately equals the occupations actual regulatory costs.
